Bio
Jennifer D’Arcy has been making art from an early age. She studied drawing, painting and sculpture at Monash University and is a graduate of Melbourne University Victorian College of the Arts (Bachelor of Fine Arts Hons). Based in Australia, D’Arcy works across multiple disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture and installation to produce diverse themes of work that are united by bold expressive colour.
For D’Arcy, art is the freedom to create a visual language using a medium and technique that reflects the complexity of the subject matter. By creating stylised, neon saturated fictional scenes that act as a visual trap, D’Arcy’s creative pursuit is to encourage the viewer to enter into a world that is more truthful.
D’Arcy has exhibited in Melbourne and Sydney. She was a finalist in the prestigious Salon Des Refuses exhibition in 2012 and is a founding and continuing member of the Melbourne based art group EP Collective. Her work is held in a number of public and private collections both nationally and internationally.
